Types of Sprinkler Nozzles
Watering devices come in all shapes and sizes. Here are a few that are available:
- Hose-end watering devices
- Whirler
- Dial-up pattern device
- Plastic ring (good for kids, not for lawns — puddles too much or not enough)
- Impulse circle
- Oscillating square or rectangle
- Specialty devices, such as canvas soaker hose and perforated-plastic hose.
Nozzles are available in a variety of styles too, such as the basic brass nozzle, the pistol-grip dial-up nozzle and the water wand.
Remember, no matter what type of watering device you choose, if you try to spray by hand, you’ll get only the surface of the lawn wet, and if you have to be away for a few days, the lawn will get brown without regular watering.
