Slow Cooker Parmesan & Honey Pork Roast

When do you think you use your slow cooker more? Spring/Summer to keep the house from heating up or Fall/Winter to prepare those full comfort food meals? I must admit, I do use my slow cooker a lot in the summer months, but the fall/winter months definitely see more slow cooking time. Just knowing I can get everything together and in the slow cooker before 11 am. and have dinner pretty much ready to go is a real time saver for our busy family. This past week alone I have used my slow cooker for 3 meals. 2 Dinner dishes and 1 dessert. Our “go to” slow cooker meals are usually Chili,Pot Roast and BBQ Pulled Pork they are family favorites. This weekend I wanted something a little different for the family dinner. I stumbled across this recipe from Six Sisters Stuff and adapted it to better fit our tastes. It was perfect! Mouth watering, juicy and just packed with flavor. This incredible Parmesan & Honey Pork Roast will definitely be making a regular appearance at our house in the cooler months to come.

Slow Cooker Parmesan & Honey Pork Roast - Daily DIY

Parmesan & Honey Pork Roast

  • 1 (3 -4) pound pork roast
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (splurge and get the good stuff)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp dried basil
  • 2 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/ tsp black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup cold water

Place your pork roast in the slow cooker. In a small bowl combine the Parmesan cheese, honey, water, soy sauce, basil, garlic, olive oil, salt & pepper. Pour over your pork roast. Cover and cook on low heat for 6 – 7 hours.

Remove your roast to your serving platter and tent (cover loosely) with foil

Skim the fat off the top of the remaining liquid in the slow cooker. Pour the juices into a small saucepan. Mix corn starch and water in a separate cup. Bring the juices from the roast to a low boil. Slowly pour in cornstarch mixture, bring back to a boil. Continue to boil for 1 – 2 minutes until the gravy is thickened. This will happen fast, don’t stop stirring and keep an eye on it.

Slice your pork roast and top with the delicious hot gravy.

Serve with egg noodles or mashed potatoes for a complete hearty meal.
